A romance doesn't begin with shadowheart

I can't figure out why I'm not starting a relationship with shadowhart. I have not been able to get her favor before the feast with the tieflings. After that, I just imagined walking arm-in-arm with Gale in the Weave. Already turned him down. And given a flower to a priestess, and raised the relationship very high. Am I going to be a lonely paladin for the rest of the story?

Personally I like the fact that Shadowheart, and to a lesser extent Karlach don't throw themselves at you. I wish the rest of the "romances" in the game were more like this tbh instead of them wanting to jump your bones the minute you make eye contact.

True! It looks a bit desperate how fast some interactions are.

You probably did too many things that she disapproved? You can have a dog as a pet, so not that lonely.

you have to talk to her in the camp. Be a bit more offensive in your dialogue, that you want her. When you try to be the nice guy, you'll fail.

I also admire that not everyone gets into bed with you right away. But I'm just afraid it's a bug. If it's not a bug, but her character, no problem at all.

One thing to add, in the characters overview you can see their approval rating towards you.

ive completed the game, here were the romance options i found with shadowheart:

Preface: i turned everyone else down, including their subtle attempts.

Act1: kissing shadowheart on a hill, requires a perception / insight check to kiss her cutscene.
Act2: give shadowheart a night orchid, her favourite flower. " ! "
Act2: comfort shadowheart for betraying Shar , she will be a brick wall most the time. " ! "
Act3: Teaching shadowheart how to swim, and having intercourse cutscene.
Act3: Comforting shadowheart while she crys cutscene.

this next one VERY IMPORTANT if you want Shadowheart to Stay with you at the end of the game in the final cutscene.
Act3 mission: you MUST find Shadowhearts parents. it doesnt matter the fate they receive. once youve done this, Shadows hearts companion mission is officially completed and she will stay with you in the final cutscene, failing to find her parents will result in her telling you "this is where our paths divert, maybe we will see each other in the future. finding her parents results in her getting happy and giddy when you ask her to stay with you.

NOTE:
to get these cutscenes, you need to long rest.
some, such as the night orchid. are prompted by the " ! " over her head.
i didnt consume any tadpole specimens, as she mentions something about being against them. no idea if it has an affect for the end game cutscenes or relationship progression.

The only way to start a romance with shadowheart, even if you told her "we missed our chance to truly connect blablabla" is to long rest in the first map of the game. If you can't access it, you're done.

Source: I ended the game twice, i tried a lot. After saying that line i was after the "creche" thing, saved and tried to camp everywhere. The moment i camped at the grove, it worked. And yes, I'm sure is not about "you just had to long rest multiple times" because to not pile up long rests i was using the same quicksave.

Edit: forgot to add this. You can romance her even if you had a fling with another one before, like Lae'zel, as long as you're "done" with it. Also, If you kiss shadowheart first, you can start a fling with lae'zel at the same time (Shadowheart needs to happen first from what i've seen or you will never get to say "i think we missed the chance to connect). At some point, Lae'zel will proc her second scene. You can fully go through with it, and the next morning decide if you want to be with shadow or lae (Shadow will confront you about this when you speak to her and tell you that it's either only her or lae.)
