Recommend initiating combat and then doing the brazier trick.
That's a huge letdown. I mean I can understand this is made to prevent npc killing themselves because "reasons", but damn... it totally kills pre-emptive strategies.
Of course I can "try" to do the blazier trick after the combat starts, but then they will move away. That blaziers seems made specifically for that reason (it's in the middle of the room and they are in the middle of the room as well...).
Well, not a huge deal, I am just deluded.
just attack the female from the side room when she comes out for a breather - the archer will flank around the long way giving you time and space to focus down the 2 melees.
because once the main melee dude dies the fight is essentially done.
i tried this fight at level 3/4 and while its hard fight (the paladin dude hits like a TRUCK) its definitely do able with my setup: fighter-cleric-sorcercer-berserker
I managed to end the fight in the same time I wrote the first post XD... I just wanted to try again to see if it was a bug or something similar.
They healed twice, and the only time I tried to shot the brazier DURING combat it just damaged the table (wtf) and not any of the enemies around it...
I was level 3 btw, had some issue with the guy bishotting my one-horned girl every single time but focusing on him with all the party did the trick.
Meh that's not good to hear. The only effective way to make a damage BEFORE starting the fight is, actually... starting the fight with it. In fact the last try I did I went stealth and dealt like 12 damages with one of my char, then the fight started and no one healed.
So I think that only enviromental damage is affected by this behaviour...
