Save the Grand Duke (Act 3 spoilers)

Instead of attending Gortash's ceremony, I went straight for the steel watch foundry and did the quest Save the Gondrians. When I got to Iron Throne, Rescue the Grand Duke got updated saying to search for him there but he obviously wasn't there as he was with Gortash. After disabling the steel watch, I went to the ceremony and everyone there was hostile including the Duke. I knocked him out rather than killing him and killed everyone else. Wyll's quest says the duke is dead but the dedicated quest for rescuing him still says to search in Iron Throne. Any attempts to wake him up failed and if I perform a long rest, he just disappears and Mizora starts talking about resurrection. Is there no way to save him without replaying the whole steel watch foundry part? It's quite frustrating seeing him alive and fully healed not being able to do anything

I didn't want to replay several hours of gameplay so I decided to accept Mizora's terms and resurrect him. But she actually resurrects him being knocked out and he disappears the next morning. Wtf is this
