Barbarian or Fighter?
I was planning on playing a Barbarian or Barbarian/Fighter before I heard that the berserker was hit with a pretty hard nerf with frenzied strain. Now I’m thinking that a straight fighter might be the better choice.

What are your experiences with Fighters and Barbarians? Which do you prefer, which are you having more fun with, and which performs better?

barbarian cuz laz is already a fighter. it's a lot of fun jumping from 1 enemy, chopping them up, then jumping to another & repeating

I can only say that Lae'zels pre-set fighter class works well. I never liked barbarians, so I don't play or invite them.
Make a spear chucking Fighter (Champion) with Tavern Brawler.

I rebuild Karlach ( barbarian ) as a fighter. Main reason was to clad her in massive heavy armor with a massive 2H weapon.

This paid of as in act 3 she was the last one standing in difficult boss fights with massive waves of enemies, finishing fights that would have been defeats without her ability to take extreme damage whilst dealing it in return.

As a barbarian she probably would have been killed as well.

Just as "rocky"said : "It is not how hard you can hit, it is how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward":-)) Fighters in heavy armor with lots of constitution can do that.

My spellcasters are pretty impressive too, throwing mini nuclear explosions on massive waves of enemies but thye are glass cannons.....they usually get downed.

barbarian wildhearth, you can cheese aoe sentinel. literally tiguer as first option and then honey badger (or wolverine, i confuse those animals) as the second option, is nasty.

I like Reckless attack on barbarians (gain advantage on attacks but enemies also have advantage). You can use it as a reaction when you would normally miss so you don't have to call it in advance. With this you almost never miss.

I'd go Barb, Reckless + Great weapon master is pretty strong. Fighter is not a bad choice though.

Thats not saying much.

You can reach AC 20 pretty easily as almost any class in this game pretty early too. AC does most of the work on keeping you alive.

You can walk out of the character creator with a sorcerer that has 16 AC and a spell that increases it by 2 more and shield proficiency that gives you 2 more for a total of 20 before you leave the Mind Flayer ship for instance.

Druids are also very tanky.

The nerf you speak of really isn't that bad. It doesn't kick in until around turn 3 and then you still have another turn or two before it really becomes detrimental. Just make sure you end your frenzy for a turn or two after the penalty becomes detrimental and then recast if you need to.

I think the first class here is pretty strong, its barb/pala

He made a small video with some corrections that i choose to ignore, because i think the "original build" rocks

google search throw barb with tavern brawler. You can throw your enemies at your enemies. Think about that.
