This book is NOWHERE to be found in the Library. All the sites I go to tell me it is but it's not here. Game Over?

It should be in one of the trapped bookcases, I don't think they highlight when you press alt, but if you hover mouse over them you should see they're lootable. If not, then it does sound like a bug.

It's nowhere using alt or not nothing is highlighted even in the area. Is my run over tho. Like Game Over?

Like I said, alt doesn't highlight the bookcases, you need to hover the mouse over the bookcases. They should be positioned at the walls of the library (if we're talking Library of the Silent here), like right against the outer walls of the chamber. If those don't exist then it might be some bug that requires reloading an older save, or reloading the area somehow, can't help much past that.

I don't think it's mandatory to finish the library, you might lose out on an optional path / item, but you should still be able to progress the main story? Haven't tried it myself so can't confirm tho.

stupid game, trying to load a file before the library and it won't even load.

I'm having an issue where I can highlight the item, but when I try to pick it up or read it, I get a "can't reach" message. Anyone else seeing this? Any workarounds?

Edit: it looks like this was caused by a corpse that was lying directly in front of the bookcase in question. My workaround was to load an earlier save and re-do the battle, minding not to kill an enemy in the wrong location. Hopefully this is corrected in a future bug fix?

you can't find it with alt. you have to loot the bookcase.

Can you sell the book? My friend looted the bookshelf and came back to the temple after awhile and finally went to go get the spear and they can't find the book.

In this case probably oversight, I myself have one copy of every single book I come across and I oversight many times.

Yeah he sold it to a trader. He was able to find it again. That's very scary you can sell that.

If you still can't find it use the alt key plus cursor at the bookshelf as mentioned. It's so hidden you would never find it. I wasted so much time on this part.

This is not a bug. THE BOOK IS DESTROYABLE. It is just a 2hp object. Load a save just before you first enter that library and WATCH YOUR FIRE; any AoE blasts at the Justiciar that is typically right next to that bookshelf can also destroy the book.
