idk man. i didnt think this fight was that difficult. i thought balnazzar was impossible though. Balnazzar starts off by killing gale turn 1 then a giant skeleton uses shove and kills my main character. leaving just 2 characters left to try and take down everything balnazzar has.
but ketheric was easy. i just sent my main at him and 1v1'd him. he hits hard but only if he hits, AC 30 took care of that (My build was an AC 25 sorcerer with the shield spell that spams fireball and fire wall). i used shadowheart to spam mass healing word which gives everyone blade ward for 2 turns and bless until you're out of spell slots. I let Karlach go through the right side zombies and I sent Gale up the left side and I managed to kill Ketheric by myself before the rest were done with normal zombies lol.
Basically I used a quickened hold person on Ketheric and then melee'd him to death (high strength sorcerer build)
The second fight was a little harder but still pretty easy. Shadowheart resurrecting my entire part as a bonus action was a nice touch, and then using wall of fire on mykul along with cloud of daggers because he can't move so all he can do is this there and suck.
this game is so weird. the hardest boss fights are actually the easiest fights in the game. The fights that were hard are the ones where the AI can shove you off a cliff.
Honestly I think I died to Minthara like 2 or 3 times but I went through all of ketheric no problem. I was like level 7.
if you're struggling, take some time between combats to give your team mates healing potions and oils. i never did, but I always wanted to, i just didnt want to take the time to do it. but if you make sure your party has elixirs, healing potions, and oils, you'll be a lot stronger for it. This is one of those fights you dont have to worry about holding back.
also drink a haste potion or a invulnerability potion. might as well. you'll have plenty and this is supposed to be a hard fight so might as well use your good potions right?
I would try to give more helpful tips but since i dont know why you're struggling i cant really say what you should do differently. its mainly just down to your build. For me I made sure everyone had over 20 AC because otherwise they would just constantly die and need to be healed every turn, I find with an AC of 30 the enemy AI has a harder time killing me.
You get a free long rest from the those blue mindflayer restoration machines(just like on the ship in the introduction), so if you can't beat Thorm and the Avatar of Myrkul with a full long rested party, idk what to tell you. Actual skill issue at that level.
AoE is your friend...
Myrkul was pretty easy for me. I'm not sure if it's because I cast wall of fire across his pit or if it was because I have a shortsword that inflicts blind with each hit, but Myrkul just sat there for 5 turns doing nothing.
step 1. get a useless hireling with lots of strength
step 2. load up inventory with smokepowder barrels
step 3. have hireling run straight for ketheric and drop all the barrels next to him
step 4.BOOM
and congratulations you've skipped the entire first half of the fight repeat in second half for similar results guaranteed to work on all bosses.... except that metal ♥♥♥♥ in the forge
This game is the easiest around fr
