Well sure, you can make the game that easy if you just abuse things, but at that point you might as well just lower the difficulty level because that's effectively what you're doing - just taking longer and requiring more planning to get the same effect.
The solution to this is to ungroup your party and leave one person behind while the other 3 can go to camp.
You can rest without food, known as Partial Rest when ending the day. In fact you can go through the entire game without ever fully resting.
I might use this when Trying to free nere, he died on my first run without me even doing anything since i didn't know it would progress while i was in camp. looking back it makes total sense lol
