Majority of frontliners are female.
Most human males are seemingly douches.
I got to baldurs gate and now that I've explored around town, it feels like the only decent males so far have been gnomes or dwarves. Most shops are female led, most leaders I've met are female, most guard captains are female, most people I have to talk to are female. It feels weird.
I'm fine with way more of it than games that really shoe-horn it because they're generally well written and acted here at least. But it becomes more and more noticeable over the course of the game. We're kind of lacking good male characters, outside of Wyll. Gale has come across like a douche in my game, Astarion is astarion and I love him but he's not exactly a shining example of humanity. There's a handfull of less notable NPCs that are good but its just overwhelmingly female for powerful characters. Then males are villains, non human or... Astarian with very few exceptions relatively.
Food for thought.
Did you side with the Goblins, or where is Halsyn?
I mean, if someone is out of the norm for no reason and lore justification, it simply is.
You'd think everyone was gay instead of there being multiple sidequests about straight couples.
You know, in most video games no one knows who an NPC is Fking, but Larain felt the need to try and normalize LGB+ content by making sure you knew when a character was gay.
You cannot go into a house say in Skyrim and see Mr and Mrs Nord sleeping in bed together.
And the Wild of Heart Quest in Witcher 3 certainly doesn't exist.
Just wait until the end of act two. If you save a certain "good" NPC you'll be stuck with a lesbian couple who happily wave it in your face any time you interact with them and you'll be stuck with them for the rest of the game. They pretend every character in existence is bi-sexual and they use the pronoun "they" to refer to any individual who might appear as the opposite sex which includes the protagonist if you choose "the dark urge" or have a custom made character. Instead of the appropriate sex, which ought to be known by the NPCs, or the gender neutral pronouns which are the masculine pronouns.
