Squatting is apparently a positive
There's a quest in the game, in Act X. You have the option to expel squatters (yes, its even called that in the game, so much for a fantasy world) from a house. And the absurdity is the reaction of the game, that it's a negative if you do. Besides sex stuff, which is discussion on its own. Damn Larian. Occupying another persons home is a clear negative on the moral scale. To pretend its a positive is insane. Yet here we are.

What are you talking about? What reaction? I didn't even get involved and the guy got knocked out by the guards. That's it.

OP thinks that beating and casting out desperate people is the only moral option.

Sounds like OP's problem, not the game's.

We already had that post. Not very unique.

What else would you call it if not squatting?

I haven't seen this scene, but it's not hard to imagine a scenario where this is a morally grey decision.

Larian Studios is based in Belgium. Idk a lot about Belgium, but given that they're an EU nation, it's important to remember that their view of things is different from what you might see from a US-based company. In the EU, overall, they're more given to welfare policies and so I can imagine how they may view forcing people to be homeless as a negative rather than the US perspective where personal property is more sacred (at least in theory).

Yet just killing everyone to be chaotic evil like most people play RPGs is just fine. I was also happy to stop Kagha as I could care less about right wing ideas and how to harm everyone just to be selfish or cruel.

So I'm playing chaotic good and defending the people and could care less about some rich guy crying as he can get a new home or fix it. Banning refugees, now that's evil.

I enjoyed punching the crapsack owner's bodyguard in the face.
Also he deserves it, he rigs toys with explosives. So ♥♥♥♥ him. I made him suffer before I killed him.

I don't know I just convinced them to leave. Think it was a sad tale as they where refugees but it still did not make it right for them to occupy that house.

One of those situations where you feel for both sides but have to make a choice of how to deal with it.

If it is your property. Anyone that does not own it, is infringing. No matter where you live in the world. The fact it's viewed negatively that you expel people just occupying someone elses property is insane. You can be in any life situation (homeless or other) it doesn't validate doing whatever the f*ck you want. As with stealing, if you have nothing. What is yours, is yours. What is other peoples sh*t, is theirs. There's no moral ambiguity in between.

As a citizen of a EU country and someone who had squatters occupying my house after I finished it and was about to move in, I can tell you that squatting is illegal and looked down upon.

it's a troll to get answers and reactions, don't fall for it. the whole right wing vs left wing debate is only there to create a divide between the working people, us. play your games and dont bring politics into it
Today I learned kicking people out from living in your own home, whom you do not know, is supposedly a bad thing.

The dude did it in a bad way, that doesnt mean squatting is fine or getting them out is bad. It is literally illegal to just live in someone else's house without their consent. Just like guards stop you when you break into other places.

There's a difference between being legal (Lawful) and moral (Good). It's lawful to remove someone who doesn't belong there from a home, but it's heartless to cast out people who have nowhere else to go.

There is most certainly moral ambiguity involved because they relate to a different Axis on the alignment chart. It's why we as a society pay to house the homeless rather than leaving them as vagrants.
Nani!?!? Aug 12, 2023 @ 12:50pm
Who would have thought beating homeless people and forcing them into the streets was bad?
