I killed the whole Goblin Camp first and now I can't find the owlbear cub (SPOILERS)

Kinda doing this in backwards order, but after i got to act 2 i realized i could get an owlbear cub and a dog and.... cmon who doesn't want that at their camp. So i got scratches to come to camp, then did the interaction with the owlbear mother in the cave, backed out, rested, came back and she was dead with the cub nowhere to be seen. Guides say that it goes to the goblin camp but i already cleared that place of all living things during act 1. Should i just bank on some more long rests to see the cub, or will it still show up at the camp?

It won't show up cause you need to save it from goblin camp prior to clearing it (since it was captured, well, by goblins).

Hey! I killed the whole goblin camp before I found the owlbear cub, killed the mom and left him alone, and then looked on here and everyone said it was a lost cause. He showed up at my camp a few long rests later, it's possible!

I did it the right way and it still never showed up. I said go to my camp with talk with animals and nothing lol
