Worthless alchemy descriptions
Why can't you see what the potion/elixir you are creating actually does until after craft it? why not just show the effects from the start so you don't end up wasting resources on a potion that doesn't benefit you.

I will admit, it would be nice to see what it does mechanically before you click the button, or bare minimum it tells you AFTER you make one.

Oh god, I hope it turns someone into a tadpole. I'd throw it at someone to see what it does, or even drink it myself...then reload the save.

Yeah, using component on potion you don't need is kinda waste tbh and you also can't choose the second ingredient either, the horror of game using my precious salt

Hey I need that for elixir of long rest, bad UI

It's odd that the ONLY place to see what the potion/coating/elixir does is after the bottle is created. It would be more logical and convenient if you see the description in the crafting menu AT LEAST after you unlocked it and have the ingredients. I agree that many of the potions are not worth the trouble.
Very minor issue.

The WIki has the answer. (Usually does.)

https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Tadpole_Elixir

Upside: Psionic Enrichment
Downside: Psionic Weakening

Spoilers?

BTW ... this is exactly what Omeluum makes for you if you bring him Timmask Spores and Tongue of Madness ... you can make it yourself from both ingredients with Alchemy... or find/buy the elixir occasionally "premixed" at merchants ... Derryth Bonecloak is often selling both ingredients ... but anyway if you have one in your inventory when you tell Omeluum your quest to "find" it is complete, he says, cool, go ahead and drink it. Then ... you know what happens next, pass some saves, get Survival Instinct, haggle him to get the Ring of Mind Shielding. BTW, while he tells you the ring has something to do with your tadpole, it really doesn't, but it will protect you from charming.

Bottom line is this quest is supposed to send you to the Arcane Tower to get both ingredients, although additionally, Omeluum even acknowledges you don't have to go there to get both ingredients, even if Derryth isn't selling both.

I mean the Arcane Tower of Lenore is a cool place and might be worth exploring for its own reasons, but this was sorta done as a breadcrumb quest to send you there, and it often doesn't function as such.

No one should have to look on the internet.

The description should be in the information box. At the very least after you create one.
