dammon the blacksmith turned into shadow cursed undead

So the great dingus appears to have walked out of the protective circle for NO REASON and’s is now a shadow zombie. Any fix for this or am I reverting back several saves??

I tried this but couldn't talk to him after and the quest for talking to him for karlach changed to completed, did this happen to you?

Happened to me too, then I stopped walking around with a bear in tow

did you have a summon out ?
like wolf, element etc ? they spook(will run far away) or make npc follow you.

seems like as soon as I walk up to undead Dammon it just marks that quest as completed

Seems the Last Light Inn is plagued with bugs as much as undead..

This just happened to me with Dammon in Last Light Inn. Gale had Azer up from Conjure Minor Elemental: Azer and it caused Dammon to run east across the little stream bridge and turn into an undead outside the cottage. I lost a couple hours of gameplay before I noticed.

I think it might depend on how you progressed in the grove. Did you talk to him there?

1st walkthrough, I had no Karlach when I went to the grove, and didn't talk to Dammon for any quest. So the tieflings left before the Karlach storyline triggered. I had him show up in Last Light and that's where the whole infernal iron quest started.

2nd walkthrough I went to get Karlach early on, then to the grove, so I triggered the infernal iron quest right in the grove. He did the first part (installing the first iron) and literally said see you in Baldur's Gate, so I don't expect him to show up in Last Light at all.

Found him (in my game).
Zombie.

Before he ran into death, he fixed Karlach and created two infernal items for me.
I think that was the most important about him.

EDIT: It worked! I just had to take exactly the 3 HP points he has as a polymorphed sheep, any damage in excess kills him (even with non lethal activated since it doesn't work with undead). Using unarmed Gale and hitting him 3 times did the trick!!

Were you able to interact with him after reviving him? Seems he is no longer interactive in my save (quest got marked as done too).

Just found out when a character is marked as dead (in this case undead) you can't talk to them any longer. Installed the bg3 script extender to see if I can remove the flag but all the commands available haven't been docummented yet :(

Same thing happened to me. Realized it was because I was wild shaped into a saber-toothed tiger

So this happened to my Dammon as well. Sucks he was there safe in the barn. Gave him one of the metal he needs. He sent me for another and when I came back he was gone.
Found him 6 hours later on a side quest just outside of the INN. Shadowcursed....fn sucks. But I think I may know why.
I'm a beast master, I use the bear alot, and I seen one lady get scared and ran strigtht out of town and got turned.
My guess he got freaked out when I was walking by once, and he bolted.
Really fn sucks. Lol. I will pay better attention on my second play through

Do anyone try to continue play after save Dammon back using this method.
Will you see Dammon in act 3? Is he interactable?
