Why is speak with the dead spell so worthless?
I cast this spell on all corpses I find and I always get the same thing: that they have nothing to say. What's up with that? The spell says I should be able to ask them five questions but no one has anything to say! The spell sucks!

when you cast it once on a corpse, corpses with actual dialogue will glow a teal color as you approach them

when you long rest, you have to cast the spell again on any corpse for the glowing to appear which is annoying but that's all we got atm

Are you mistakenly only using it on people you kill, since the spell doesn't compel them to answer and they're angry at you for murdering them?

Pro tip: cast the spell on a random corpse once a day. This grants you a passive effect that highlights any corpse with something to say.

I had lots of use for it.

Disguise yourself to be able chat with those you murdered.

or just use the Amulet no reason to waste spell slots on it.

Disguise yourself spell - item can be used to chat with those you killed...

Nice - that last part I wasn't aware of (always respeced Shadowheart and never tried her disguise-spell ._.).

About the speak-to-the-dead spell: it is incredibly useful for exploring the gameworld. You get a lot of clues about what to do in certain quests - and some background information. Those informations aren't only for you, the player - but your character is using them in dialogues as well. Example: Without talking to the deaths you wouldn't know where the Duke is being brought to. After talking to some of the dead Drows your character knows about the exact location and the dialogue with the Counsellor reflects that. Beforehand all were just guessing that the search should start in the west. With the information by the dead they discuss the area of the location a bit.

Or read a certain book - and get the spell permanently for the character using said book.

It's VERY useful if you cast it on the glowing dead.
I think you've been using it on the wrong corpses.

Nope, I use it on random corpses I find but no one has anything to say 😏 Maybe I'm just using it on the wrong corpses then
