How to kick a player's character from the party? (co-op questions)
Ok, well, I know, it sounded brutal, but I really can't find how to do it. I know how to kick a player from the session, but how is it possible to kick his custom character from the party?

Basically, I admit, I messed up session settings, so at some point third player joined our game (looks like if you mark LAN it means players could join via LAN AND net, not 'only LAN'). And he created custom character while loading in our game. Even after I fixed settings and kicked the guy (well, sorry, but...), his character remained in the party, but I was unable to do anything with that orc. No way to remove/kick character or leave him in the camp at least. Even killing him didn't solve the problem. I don't think it's intended. As you can guess caring around for the whole game some random character... not fun. Is there some interaction I have missed?

And as an additional question. Game FAQ says others will join your existing game as one of your companions, but as we tested after this case if new player tries to join the game he is asked to create a totally new character (hiriling?). Am I missing something or understanding something wrong? Or is it because we were still in the beginning of the game (still snooping around crash site), so other players are able to bring their characters instead of using existing companions?

You can't.
They are in your party permanently.

The devs stated on twitter this was done on purpose as their idea was that a party that plays DnD togehter stays together from start to end.

But they are working on ways to change that, as they did not account for players trolling other players by joining their public lobbies, making new characters with terrible stats, and the host is stuck with that character permanently, forcing them to start over.

maidenless behavior.

So they said on twitter its a top priority on resolving that.

Seems the best you can do is go to withers and respect the character into something you like.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I really hope they solve it somehow... including not only fixing trolls, but also solving a 4 co-op problem with bringing companions to their quests.

origin characters can come and go, custom characters have to begin (at the start) with you, so they are always there. if said player doesnt return. just play their character for them, or respec them

While I "get" the rationale . . . it would be nice to have a friend hop in on their preferred character, but be able to sideline them just like any other camp companion

How incredibly foolish and short-sighted of the Devs if that's truly the case. I can't believe someone at Larian thought that was a good idea!

Have devs ever played tabletop DnD?
