They are in your party permanently.
The devs stated on twitter this was done on purpose as their idea was that a party that plays DnD togehter stays together from start to end.
But they are working on ways to change that, as they did not account for players trolling other players by joining their public lobbies, making new characters with terrible stats, and the host is stuck with that character permanently, forcing them to start over.
maidenless behavior.
So they said on twitter its a top priority on resolving that.
I really hope they solve it somehow... including not only fixing trolls, but also solving a 4 co-op problem with bringing companions to their quests.
How incredibly foolish and short-sighted of the Devs if that's truly the case. I can't believe someone at Larian thought that was a good idea!
