Fr. Literally only but I've experienced is the jump command being extremely finicky in some spots.
Oh and there's one character in act 2 who has a ... "scar". Said scar just disappears and reappears occasionally... Hardly a game breaking bug.
Quest 1 , I am not sure I have done
QUest 2 , I finished it through Astarian
Quest 3 , it is finished once the person mentioned is saved from a certain specific location
Quest 4 , the entry is from the side from lower city
Quest 5 , not sure but you may have angered the character
Quest 6 , the character mentioned is found but you need to start 9 fingers quest
Quest 7 , same as quest 6, found in sewers , a specific character will have the keys and money on them during a certain fight
Quest 8 , it is an open quest but it did end to me in the final arc
- Crashes to desktop have been rather common (around 8 - 12 times), and usually happen when loading a game, starting a combat or a cutscene. Verified the files the first few times, but it didn't seem to have an effect.
- Automatic combat pathing doesn't seem to work correctly. For example, if I hover mouse above an enemy to attack, the game tells me that my "character can't reach" them or it would move a weird route, but when I first move the character manually next to an enemy, it works just fine and I can attack from the position I moved in. The same thing can happen with jumps and other movement-related skills.
- The characters sometimes twitch when changing expressions during dialogue. The camera has also gone to weird locations/zoom-levels a few times.
- Some quest flags might not update correctly. This is hard to determine, since I'm not sure if I've missed something. Primary example being the quest where something is stolen from my party, and when I get to the thieves' hideout, I can't find my stuff even though the quest log indicates I should be able to. I also can't talk to their leader about it, even though it's kind of implied I could.
Comparing to Divinity: Original Sin 2, my experience with this game has been way buggier. But it seems this experience isn't shared by all, so your mileage may wary.
Act2-3 probably were rushed and never tested in early access. That's what happens when early access revenue stream dries up.
What are you on about ?
Act 1 and Act 3 has similar durations ,
the scope of this game giving +100hours of content , it is normal to have a couple of bugs at launch but no bug I have seen is game breaking
Even Act 2 is not short neither.
Mormacil, well, there isn't a lot of good writing in RPG globally, but Tyranny or Tides of Numenera are far superior to BG. There're plenty of defaults, but it is far more consistent on their approach about world building and character's psychology. Kingmaker was decent (while WotR is horrendous despite some good roleplay possibilities). Some streamers could be a good choice as there're plenty of better DM than Larian.
But when you have a clown like Vincke leading a company, you cannot expect something consistent from this company. This company has a good level to make awesome A-RPG, but for more mature and consistent content, they're not mature enough and I bet on "Vincke's the main problem of Larian".
But if you wanna play now as well and take it at your own pace, any of the more serious bugs should be patched well before you get to them. Just don't speedrun it.
act 2 feels railroaded and a bit buggier
act 3 as big and open as act 1 but really buggy and feels rushed tbh
i'll give it a month or two or maybe even half a year to do another run
also inventory management is absolute garbage as is the camera sometimes
Post a video and show me steady 30 fps in grymforge on steamdeck. Lets say abouz 30 min of gameplay? If you can prove that, i will never post anything here again.
No.
But there is a chance you are one of the unlucky few facing every and all bug there is remaining (for me it was a breeze so far - no performance problems in 4K UHD, no game breaking bugs (no game has no glitches)). That or those few raging threads are purely made up and exaggerated.
It wasn't rushed, since it was two years late.
Unfinished, though? Definitely yes, in the sense that there are things they are going to tweak in upcoming patches. Bugs of course, but also other things - there are some fights I would bet they'll revisit and retune. And a LOT of quests /goals are obtuse to the point of annoyance, so I would also bet they'll go through the game and clarify a lot of things.
But judging from the reviews and posts about it, I think 97% is about right. I mean, unless you're one of the outliers, you can definitely play the game all the way through, as intended by the developers.
Have you been using Vulkan or Direct X? And how hot is your computer running?
