Scratch won't join me

Hi, I have rescued Scratch from forest and now its in the camp but whenever I click on it only says pet or leave it won't join to party?

He will join later, I think you have to keep petting him and interacting with him at camp for a while before he joins. He is a spell you use to call him forth then he appears next to your portrait like pets do.

I just got him before or maybe it was start of act 2, so keep petting him and in time he should join. I am playing a ranger beast master on explorer mode just incase you're wondering what I was when I got him on my team. Just fair warning when you do get him, he will run into traps and stuff if his special ablity is going on but you can summon him again if he goes poof so that's a upside.

Thank you so much.. I was getting worried, this game makes me question myself double/triple with each choice lol.. I'll keep petting the good boy..

I've been doing the petting etc for ages with him and the owlbear. Neither will join me on my adventures. I'm almost finished with ACT2

You get the spell after he brings you a ball and you play with him.
