Do you think this game deserves the 98 on metacritic?

It's kind of puzzling how this game has a 98 when it has tons of flaws, did journalists only play the first act or something?

I don't think I even know what Metacritic is let alone ever given a consideration of its reviews.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

At the end of the day I knew, KNEW. This game would not be fun for me. But I went in any way and STILL go in. Am I having fun. Not really. But it kills time. So it serves a purpose. Its like taking a Laxative.

It does not - I object to the jarring story and bad worldbuilding and abysmal compressed reality maps.

If it was overhyped (like Cyberpunk was in its time) the user scores would have tanked.

All time reviews hold at 93%. Which is lower than 97% all time on Deep Rock Galactic or 97% on Mount&Blade: Warband.

BG3 does nothing new, as I expected. Every single gameplay part was done many times before, but for some reason AAA devs shilled that this is the next coming of christ. Must be the bear scene that impressed them, I guess?

Lol so many of the top reviews are from people with less than 10 hours. If you played all the way through act 3 and still think it’s a 10/10, your standards are too low imo

act 3 right now is completely broken
but overall yes it deserves it

This game is very high quality, tons of attention to detail, awesome voice acting. Even with the cringy wokeness this game still deserves a high score.

Yes and no.
Studios and Corporations pay for "Native Advertising". Where media release articles disguised as journalism that are really just an advertisement for the game. They also pay youtubers to advertise for them.

They also are incentivized to hype games in order to drive traffic so they make money. Same with people on youtube. You want people to watch your videos and if more people buy the game, you get more views and can make more money making more videos for the game.
