Why is there mind flayer sex?

Mind flayers reproduce asexually. An elder brain produces parasites that burrow into a host's brain and slowly turns them into a new mind flayer. This fact is central to the main plot of the game. I don't know if mind flayers are even supposed to have sex organs, but even if they are, they certainly wouldn't have a sex drive. Why is this in the game? Is it a joke?

Whether illithids are sexless or not is a question, but as I clearly remember Drizzt being mind-controlled to massage a giant brain at one point, I don't think mindflayers are averse to carnal pleasure entirely.

It's heavy spoiler territory but the emperor is very much aware of his human past so it's likely he still has lingering urges, story-wise it seems to check out.
Might be a bit weird to some but you can always reject his advances if you don't like it? A non-issue, unless you clicked yes despite not wanting to be exposed to it.

Juveniles have a sense of humor, where did I say otherwise? I implied that the simplistic (arguably low level) of that humor is juvenile, I would conflate it with south park's Terrance and Phillips humor, which is largely limited to farts as the source of humor. In this case, its everything and everyone focusing on sex. It kind of turns the world of D&D into a kind of Terrance and Phillips cartoon in that sense, but with sex being the focus.
