The Githyanki Egg

Lady Esther is willing to pay well for a githyanki egg, that's clear. But I'm curious if there's a way to hatch it on my own or do something more interesting than just selling it. Has anyone figured it out?

It hatches and kill the brilliance people in baldurs gate I suggest smash it

I'm not giving her any eggs. I think I'm just going to leave the quest unfinished and see if she shows up later on; angry that I took her money and ran.

How can just hatched small creature kill people? Sorry, but it's hard to believe. If this is the case I'm keeping it just to witness it :)

That's clear. But what about the githyanki egg? Any use other than selling?

No clue, I turned Lae'zel loose on her and we beat her into oblivion. She had some decent gear for a monk on her. Or a bladlock

Interested in this too. I ended up murdering the lady to make her check ehr priveleges, so I guess I'll just wait and see if the egg somehow hatches during one of the long rests.

By the way, the Mind flayer in Myconoid village I think expressed some interest in studying Gith, maybe giving him the egg is also an option? I'll check. upd: Nope, no diaogue options. :( Sad!

Anyone finish this quest without giving her the egg? i steal her letter that mention "anyone who bring this egg". Can i just go to the society building and give it myself or is it locked?

you get 1k from the society in act 3. But I wonder if there is hatching option somewhere

Huh, I never thought of that. Wonder if the game considers that an option. Be cool if they did.

Either way, that was one of my very few terrible moments since I let Lae'zel stab her over that. I agree with the idea on paper, but taking one of their eggs away from them is going to rain hell down on a bunch of people that don't deserve to die.

You can give her the owlbear egg, how that resolves the quest I dunno though because I havent done it. Gonna try it with my Gith because it seems funny to go "ah yes here is an egg of my people" and just hand her an oversized chicken egg.

It does but you need to roll a few difficult persuasion skill checks.

If you give her the owlbear egg you can persuade it to lie to her superiors, im holding the Gith egg on my inventory for now, i hope something happends with it.

She pays 1k for the owlbear egg, if you convince her, that her superiors have no idea what a githyanki egg looks like.
