Shapeshifter Druid question - weapons skills for Mymridons?
The form of the shifter is usually a bite or a claw. I assume those are "unarmed strikes"

However, the mymyridons, some use a sword for instance. Does any of my unarmed bonuses apply to that? do I need weapon skill with those wapons?

any help?

I see a bunch of mods out there for BG3 on nexus, but they all seem problematic right now, and I was reading about fixes for druid shapeshifter, so it seems like it is a little weak atm.

Your wildshape attacks are their own separate thing entirely, at level... 6(?) Moon Druids get a ton of bonuses to their attacks while in wild shape but your weapons don't affect these.

What stats impact my damage while in wild shape?

Obviously, Strength of a cat means I only get a 2 point of damage swipe. So I don't get the strength of a Bear and use my own strength?

Does Wisdom impact wild shape?

It's important I know if unarmed strikes have anything to do with wildshape, because I have magic items that impact it, but no way of seeing the outcome of equipping things to my character.

The same is true of "Heavy Weapons Master" - how do I know it impacts daggers. It says "melee weapons" but the name is misleading.

*bump* please help as I am holding off on the run until I better understand if as a wild shaper I even care about wisdom as I wont' be casting many spells.

When you wildshape, str dex and con are all determined by the form.

So if you don't intent on physically fighting in human form you can drop them pretty safely

When you go into Wild Shape you inherit the stat block of that creature outside of INT, WIS and CHA.

You do not keep the effects of magical artifacts in wild shape afaik unless the effect itself specifies it works in Wild Shape(there are some such items I've found in the later part of the game)

For Great Weapons Master the bonus attack should be able to be proc'd by any melee weapon including daggers if we take it RAW but you'd still lose out on the second half of this Feat cause that one requires a Heavy/versatille 2h weapon. Specifically for BG3 I don't know if it's coded that way since I haven't tested it.

My 2 cents are that Resilient Con and warcaster are probably the most important feats you can get as a moon druid. A lot of your spells are concentration and you can't recast them while shifted so being able to keep it up is massive for such a character. And the other feat should probably be ASI(personally I also love Sentinel on Moon Druids but that's for more defensive play)

So let's say you have Lathanders Mace, and it gives off 6 points of damage to any undead.
You transform, does it go away?

What feats, if any would help in transform? Tavern brawler?

how can I know if I am helping myself or adding pointless stats?

I want a summoner druid who can transform.

also, can Halsin adventure with you? Can I respec him to that? Does he have interesting side quests?

For Halsin, you need to do his quest in Act 2. He'll join your camp after the resolution of the druid grove. Once you do his quest in Act 2, he'll be able to join your party.

And yes, you can fully respec all companions at withers for the small sum of 100g.

You cannot use your weapons when you wildshape. Full stop.
If you become a bear, you make bear attacks.

Again: imagine your wild form changing you entirely. you have no more items on you, it's like you are naked. your weapons? Your body. You have only your int, wis, cha stats from your human form left, nothing more.

Certain perks still work, some less, some more functioning.

does tavern brawler help in wildform?

thanks for the help so far.
steelcoresoviet Aug 19, 2023 @ 5:07pm
The only point of tavern brawler that'd be applicable is the bonus action grapple.

Which is neat, but probably still not worth taking that feat on druid.
