Sussur tree bark bug

tree bark is missing i cannot collect it from the tree, there is nothing glowing that i can click on

well i guess i will just move on and hope devs will fix it for my second playtrough

Yeah, the weapons are bad unfortunately. They need to expand the crafting options and buff the weapons just a bit imo

Yes, it is possible to destroy it [with AOE] - it has 10 HP.

There is nothing the devs can fix if you destroyed the item :( A second playthrough is worth it =)

It is a good upgrade for the flaming great sword - as it also has a +1 enchantement. I never go for the dagger / sickel though. The silence-on-hit can be pretty good. It also takes a long time until one really gets a better weapon in that category. If going for the sussur bark fast it's even better. One can get it pretty soon - lvl 3 or 4 is doable. (if you sneak past some enemies / isolate them)

I had a great sword and a great axe (bloodied great axe) that were both better by the time I crafted the sussur great sword.

I am also having the same problem, in the diary it shows that I still need to pick it up but when I climb the tree the bark does not detach to pick it up

not sure if it requires an perception check. If it does... you are stuck at creating an hireling, make him gain as much perception as possible and then save the game before getting close to the bark. Just reload if it doesn't trigger.


I always have one character purely focused on perception in my camp. It's annoying.

Sussar Tree is BIG SUS, there's a tiny arse branch out of the top of the largest stem/stalk/root of the Sussar Tree you can walk on and its on the right side slightly dip down, the platform is so tiny even gnomes will complains its discriminating against small size people :p

As mentioned above it is possible to destroy it, so if you use explosion...well it is likely possible you destroyed it. No more options to get it.

However if you get it the dagger is a +1 item WITH SILENCE on hit added to it, so very good for those sneaky type of guys to silence casters;)

in my case I reviewed my log and realized I casted a Fireball that blew the piece of bark to bits

It's not an bug, not a problem

Sussar Bark is one of the rarest alchemy material in the Swords Coast - it is only grown in the Underdark - an multi-level complexity of caves, ruins, monsters and various factions lurks in the dark. When you locate a Sussar Tree, make sure you don't directly lay your eyes on the tree, you may get blinded by its utter blinding lights or even worst - gets mesmerized it and a Hook Monster sneaks up on you... Now to harvest a Sussar Bark, you need to walk the thickest root you can find and reach the tree, turn around and get amazed by the darkness surrounds you and the Sussar Tree radiates like a bright star. Turn right and you shall see the slightly peeled off bark
