Where can I find heavy armor

Still at the early game as I haven’t had much time to play yet. Just wondering is heavy armor easy to come by just playing or will I need to find some? If so where might I find some sooner rather than later?

It becomes easier to come by as you go along. It's a little hard to find real early. Check traders and enemies when you kill them

There's some heavy armor for sale in druid grove; Dammon sells a suit of ring mail. It's not any better than the medium scale mail he also sells, but it is heavy if you want the look of it.

If you dumped DEX and are taking a -1 to AC on a melee character, then the ring mail is what you want.

Traders can update their wares when you level up and restock when you long rest.

What's been really hard for me to find is any magic cloth "armor" for the chest slot. But heavy armor is probably second on the list of hard to find armors.

You find it mid Act 1 on traders and then more and more as you progress. Early act 1 everyone just wears Medium.

You can get heavy armor relatively early. Ringmail is heavy armor AC 14 and Chainmail is AC 15. I believe the blacksmith sells chainmail +1 (the tiefling blacksmith in the grove). I found normal full plate in the mountain pass after fighting some undead on the main road.

Ring mail is 14 AC. But yes, it's available as soon as you get to druid grove.

Loot-wise Act 2 will start to give you good heavy armor, however vendors will start selling decent heavy and medium armors when you get to Level 4 (vendor inventories refresh each time a character levels up, and their inventory gets better as you level).

In the first mini dungeon right off the starting beach one of the (human) enemies that you fight drop ring mail if I'm not mistaken. If I have a DEX bonus I normally stick with scale mail, until I can get some chain mail at least, as the AC is usually higher as I don't believe that ring mail offers that stat bonus.
