Cleric Players Share Your Stories
I saw that Cleric is the least played class on the latest facebook post. Cleric players, what unique experience are you having that the rest of us aren't? Why did you chose Cleric? Did you have trouble picking a god? Is Shadowheart in your team? What [cleric] dialogue choice was your favorite?

I have taken it as a casualty my favorite characters to play. In Mass Effect it was the Engineer and my favorite character was Tali so I ended up spending the whole game less than optimal for lore reason. Here, I'm never taking Shadowheart or Gale out because I like the characters despite my love of playing casters.

Waiting for Divine Soul Sorcerer in BG3, might be a long wait though, So I'm just playing Draconic Bloodline for now. Cleric is my second favorite so I will chime in with my time playing with my companion Shadowheart respec'd to Life Domain Cleric

I love healing in MMOs, being responsible for keeping everyone alive is a very nice feeling. obviously healing in DnD intentionally feels awful as it's supposed to 'soften the blow' not undo it. Bard and Druid are still absolutely up there but the Cleric aesthetic and style feels like home.

I prefer cleric in the later levels, I'd much rather run a character as some sort of martial class until 3rd level spells are available.

I'm playing cleric of Life, Lathander as I often do in table top. I'm actually going half elf wood elf here though for spears and movement speed. It's been pretty decent and there are a ton of options and I gotta say, it definitely has deepened my respect for the guidance cantrip. Damn if that isn't OP.
Seldarine drow light cleric that worships Eilistraee. Can patch the boys up after friendly firing them with Fireball. The discount evocation wizard. :lunar2019coolpig:

I decided on Cleric because it has a great mix of spell casting, while still being marshal. I chose Kelemvor as my patron and I've enjoyed it heavily as a Light Cleric. I'm currently using Shadowheart as her default cleric class and it's actually very strong. Act 2, thus far, has been much easier than I imagine some have had it. The radiant spells and rituals are very beneficial and make surviving difficult encounters manageable. I'm on balanced difficulty if this helps anyone else. :)

Spirit weapon/Spirit guardians are so awesome imo. I love it.

Just leave her on the beach, it takes less than five minutes to go round up Gale, Astarion and Laezel. You are in no way dependant on relying on any one single comosnion character.

Cleric was the class I was most interested in AND is definitely my favorite class so far, BUT I haven't created a cleric character yet.
Probably going to read tons of DnD lore to know what I'm going to worship beforehand.

I've never done that, just leaving her. Wait... What happens when the absolute contacts you and the relic isn't on you to save you?

I keep Shadowheart because I like here not because cleric is good in this game. Its offense is absolutely laughable and its buffs do little on tactician. Cleric are just bait and even with 20 AC in act 1 she just gets hit by everything. The enemies in this game have insane rolls and bonuses for low level creatures. In table top she would be a god tier tank support. in this game she is just a punching bag.

gonna echo what Morrganstain said, you can leave Shadowheart on the beach if you're playing as a Cleric, or even Druid/Bard.

If you want Shadowheart in your party and still want to play as Cleric, you can respec her to another class, or just play double Cleric. or quadruple Cleric. You'll be fine :pkskull:

She... magically manages to catch up to you at the right time, so the relic can still safe you. I wonder what happens if you killed her (and if it's possible to not take the relic afterwards). Looks hard/impossible to escape the relic.

I play Cleric Tag-Team with Shadowheart.
I play a Fighter/Light Domain Cleric of Lathander and due to my Constitution of 20 and Proficiency + Advantage on Con Saves due to Warcaster, none of my Concentration Spells shall ever, ever be broken. Making me the Holy Warrior of Lathander with Never Ending Spirit Guardian and throwing Fireballs at Anyone who dares to fight me.

And of course my lovely Shadowheart is with me. The Shar Priestess of Life. Life? Life.
She is my Beacon. My Fountain of HP. The Source of Power. I respecced her into Life Domain because i dont like Trickery Domain.

Works like a freakin Charm.
Clerics seem to be brutally underrated.
My Light Cleric is a Weapon of AOE Mass Destruction and i love him.

Dunno, havnt gotten that far in the story, but there is probably some way to make sure you get the box. I remember seeing some interview with Swen talking about that topic in particular. I killed her in my file, so now I have the magic box.

At any rate the point was party composition right? You can just keep Shadowheart at camp. The main driver for what class you want to play is what other classes you bring along for combat and social encounters right? ;)
