why is this game turn based?
i was going to buy it until i saw some gameplay videos and i saw that you actually take turns in combat.
is it really that hard to make it more like diablo or poe?
also was it really necessary to put dice rolling in the game? on top of being able to miss attacks you can have a fireball do literally 1 damage.
it blows my mind how this game got glowing reviews when the game mechanics are so ancient and outdated..

Its turn based because it was built to be a turn based game.

D&D is turn based and this is based on D&D. It's also what the company is good at making.

because D&D is a turn and diced based game and not a mindless grindfest

Asking about dice rolling in a game that's based on DnD makes the bait too obvious :p

it can be a d&d game without having to rely on the board game mechanics you know.. i just think it's weird that they're so weirdly faithful to rolling dice when they're making a video game. they don't have to do any of that and can opt for more modern combat mechanics.

And yet they didn't and the game was a huge success.

Why people is allowed to fill the forum with garbage like this is hard to find interesting stuff to read. It looks like the freedom to do ♥♥♥♥ of these people is more important than the freedom of people that enjoy game and come to the forum to find useful information and thread.

There are already 10-20-30 post about how people don't like turn game and make disappear on page 2-3 or even 4 post that actually would be cool to read and discuss
Stupidity shouldn't be free to do whatever in the name of freedom.

you write some garbage like this you get ban for 2 weeks right away. we need some cleaning on this forum the game is what is it complaining is getting tiring.

between this the gay factor comments and the companions sux can you marge all those ♥♥♥♥ in 3 super post and let other interesting stuff survive few minutes in the first page or second of the forum?

Because Dungeons & Dragons is turn-based.

It sounds like you want a team of hundreds of people to cater to your exact wishes for a game, instead of just liking or not liking (and in turn moving on) the vision they made. And isn't Diablo 4 being drug through the mud rn?

Baldurs gate was also basef on dnd and wasnt turn based, neithet was bg dark alliance
It was. Just instead of giving people time to react and appraise they made all turns run simultanously, similarily as when you play in multiplayer and several characters share a turn.

So how do you think 'modern combat mechanics' do their calculations?
