Druid, probably the best tank and most versatile class in moon druid.
Wizard, straight up the best caster in the game do to being able to swap spells out on the fly.
You can say you dislike them but mechanically speaking... these 3 are top teir, rogue combo'd with ranger is arguably the best archer build.
They all suck what you talking, I swear yall playing on explorer mode telling me wizards are good.
They suck because on tactician, whilst martials grow in strength, casters fall off hard as your spell DC is much much harder to increase than martial attack rolls. Meaning martials have 95% chance to hit all time or 100% , and casters not only struggle to hit, they struggle to even be able to control anything with decent ability scores.
Spell DC ultimately means every level gain of an enemy you fight you become weaker, this is not the case for martials.
Have not tried Druid or Rogue yet

It's really noticeable early game on the hardest difficulty. The brains will one shot your magic users from a distance.
I played with a party of all fighters and a party of all magic users.
You can pretty much take anything on with the fighters. There are few OMG boss fights in this game that can't just be tanked and wore down with steel and bows.
The magic classes, with the cleric being a more mid ground class, tend to get wiped way more often.
