Is anyone running this game on a Hard Drive? If so, what is your experience so far?
Hi all,

I'm interested in getting this game (probably once it goes on sale). However, I've noticed that one of the requirements is an SSD. Whilst I do have one, it is incapable of holding 150GB that the game requires, so I'd have to play it on my Hard Drive.

I've done some sleuthing, and there seems to be mostly speculation on how the game runs on a Hard Drive.

I was wondering if anyone has actually ran this game on their hard drive, and if they could share their experience with it? Just to judge if the game will be playable right now, or if I should wait a bit and upgrade my PC.

Thanks!

I've been playing it on my HDD instead of SSD. It does take awhile to load but plays just fine.

you can run it on an hdd, its not so bad. the loading times are there, but not anywhere as terrible as i first assumed.

Loading times are actually fine, the problem is loading some textures during cutscenes.

Only played during early access (currently downloading the full game). I tend to defrag my hard drive after large downloads and run my registry tools (auslogics boostspeed) and have had no problems during early access. Have friend who plays also on hard drive - his only problem is that the game is "too hard" but he may be noticing some things since he also said the game was probably pushing the limits on his computer(but hasn't said what if anything he's noticed- he could simply be stating this because he's running it on a very old computer and wants a new one).

I didn't pay attention to the system requirement so installed it on my hard disk. It plays kind of OK, not so smooth moving your characters around. I would not say that the load time is a significant issue. I have since moved it to my SSD and it does play much more smoothly. I advise looking into options on adding SSD to your PC

My SSD doesn't have anywhere near the free space of my HDD. I think that SSD thing might be more of a suggestion, as it would reduce the loading times. Unless you're someone who either knows how to install new components to a computer, or has the money to pay someone to do so, I think using the HDD for games (since SDD is factory default "Drive C" and thus spoken for by windows and friends).
