Volo's ersatz eye

I took it off his corpse hoping for the free stats, but when I "use" it, it does nothing and isn't consumed. Is there another use or reason it's still lootable? Can you give it to the Hag? I heard there was a +1 to all stats from her somehow or is this just a leftover from EA when the eye did gave charisma.

Yes you do? You don't need to give her an eye to get it, but I saw in threads there used to be a way to get +1 in all stats, instead of just the 1. Probably unrelated, but was unsure.

Yes, but that comes with a hit to perception as well.

If you talk to him rather than kill him and go through a *highly questionable* surgery process, he will install the eye into your head and give you permanent see invisibility.

Yes if you save him he helps to try and cure you and as a result he inserts that item that you looted from his cold dead corpse into your head.

If you killed him then you'll have to find a way to rip out your own eye (or someone else do it) and then insert that looted eye in.

It's a full glass/magical eye. You can't insert it, if you don't have an empty eye socket

Volo spent a long rest or two researching that eye surgery. You killed him before he could do it for you, so you lost the benefits of it. You cant do eye surgery on yourself.

Hag is completely unrelated to volo. She can give you +1 to a stat of your choice if you choose the right dialogue. (She doesnt leave you with an empty socket, she gives you a special eye, same as volo)

My lord I'm not trying to insert it myself, I understand he can give you see invis and you can't just smash the eye into your forehead on your own. I am asking about the object you can have in your inventory only and if anyone has found a purpose for it in main release.
