Runs well on older rig (GTX 970 M !)
Hi,

just an info for all the guys afraid it won't run on their machines ...:

It's running on my older rig with an GTX 970 MOBILE (!) surprisingly well.
Most settings are on High, some of them even ULTRA.
I had an 8 hour session yesterday, and besides 3 DX11 crashes everything else ran very, very well.
No overheat, no glitches ... just ran good.

With appr. 15 hrs in the game i can say:

Chapeau, Kudos, well done Larian, good implementation.
Even my old horse still rides into the sunRISE with me 😂

And i thought i had to shoot it and buy a new one ...

My friend has a Steam Deck and he says it runs on ultra. Pretty insane

Yep, they relly did a great job with the graphics implementation.

If they now manage to fix the DX11 errors (and i'm, sure they will), than this rollout is a good example for "others" 😂

As i said, i was surprised it runs THAT well ... 🤷‍♀️

It's an old "gaming" rig with SSD, I9, 16GB RAM, and the 970 Mobile.

I can run it mostly fine with a 12yo motherboard, a 12yo i7 CPU, GTX 970, 8GB Ram, Windows 7, running the game from a hard disk (OS is on a SSD, not the game).
There are game pauses while it loads new assets, so it's the hard disk that's the bottle neck; given BG3 is essentially turn based, it's no issue for playing.
((Ordered a new system a while ago, but they're waiting for parts ... still ))

Wait till you hit act 3. You will change your mind in an instant.

And... How was it? Hahaha

My rig is 13 years old and I run BG3 in 4k with all high and ultra settings without slowdowns. The video card is a TitanX hydro copper which is slightly newer (2015) than the rig (2011) but still a pretty old card.

Only issues I get are dropped frames on the 2nd screen when I watch a 4k video while in certain areas in BG3, but the game doesn't suffer an noticeable performance loss.
