Don't waste your time looting everything and selling it
I'm midway into act 3 and there's literally nothing to buy above a few items for 2k. If you're like me and were looking at 20k+ at the end of act II, you're wasting hours of your own time to no purpose.

Except that only works if the trader has the money/items you want.

They replenish their gold every time you rest. Every single trader does. So unless you went on a trader killing spree, trust you'll have enough traders with enough gold to loot the entire game.

you need to loot in order to get camp supplies

my post was saying don't waste time collecting relatively useless stuff on dead enemies, sorting through it all and hawking it to the local trader. there's almost nothing ever worth buying, and where there is, you can return after 1 little mini area or dungeon and usually afford it.

what is retarded is i just learned that your camp supply pouch can open.. and you can send all the items to camp.. 30 hours in and just learning why my dude was so heavy..

That's an obsession, not something that I have control over. I do it in every game.

Currently have over four grand, still level four.

Looting everything that isn't nailed down. Although, I still pass on a lot of bottles, utensils, kitchenware, and tools. The game is full of odds and ends.

It's like walking into a junk yard.

You can buy scrolls to trivialize combat if you're playing tactician

I'm still goinna keep looting everything that isn't nailed down if it's worth more than just a few gold. I like to just count my pile of coins at the end of the game even if there's nothing to spend them on, like Scrooge McDuck.

Besides, you never know. They might end up surprising us with a DLC, and it could have something super expensive, just to f' with all the people who decided not to worry about money. That's something Larian would do just for giggles.

Being a loot goblin is video game tradition, if you aren't looting everything not nailed to the floor, are you even playing the game?

Keep looting. Buy potion.

you can play however you like. you can run a team of 4 warlocks if you so choose.

im just warning people out there who may be like me and thought there was going to be tons of high value stuff to buy in the city, or a house, or that it would make a real difference. though it makes little sense, endgame shops are about as well stocked and have a similar distribution as some hobo on the roadside or a refugee on the run for their life, 1 very rare, a few rares, mostly uncommon. nothing you can't find for yourself really with a few exceptions. it's poor design but that's what it is.

Seems like a dev issue. They knew we would loot goblin, and they didn't put stuff in the game to reward it!

I just stole everything I wanted from the vendors. Who needs money?
LongLostLittleKen Aug 14, 2023 @ 2:51pm
Buying? I f*cking steal it.

There's a set of heavy armor that costs 10k and gives you permanent blade ward. I don't know, that sounds like a good reason to hoard gold.

It comes with boots that give permanent longstrider and immunity to difficult terrain.

And gloves that give +2 AB and Damage to weapon attacks.

There's also a set of gloves for your healer that makes anyone healed get Blade Ward.

There's also a ring that heals you for 1d4+2 HP at the start of your round every round, that applies the blade ward effect if its equipped by your healer, so you can have 2 people in your party have 50% damage resistance to all physical damage with just those items.

There's also a cloak of Displacement that gives disadvantage to every attack on the wearer until the first hit connects.

All of the above are about 1k each in pricing.

If you're a monk, there's a lot of really good items for sale at this point in the game too.
I was thinking the same altough I must admit I pickpocketed the whole armor set with Astarion
