What are the chances of rolling this? Weighted die?
All this happened in one turn, and I don't even need to scroll the log since it was basically back to back. I've got Karmic Dice off, maybe they're trying to make a point.

the odds of getting any one specific number 5 times in a row (assuming you wanna include the 20) is simply the odds multiplied by themself.

1/20 5 times or 1/3.2million.

grats on the odds (the 13 does break it though, and the 20 i suppose if we weren't including it.)

The odds of that sequence are the same as the odds of any other sequence of 5 numbers on a d20: 1/20^5, or 0.000125%

I was trying to lock pick with my rogue that has a +9 bonus on a 10 check. I rolled 3 natural 1s in a row....how is that possible?? I thought maybe I wasn't supposed to open that door or something, but I used a new lock pick and it opened next try. Karmic Dice also disabled.

rng is rng, it happens, you can flip heads 10 times in a row, its rare but does eventually happen.

It's worth noting that the odds of that precise combo out of only 4 rolls is very tiny. But the odds of any particular roll of 4 numbers is equally tiny.

The odds of SOME streak of 4 1's and 20's happening over the course of your game is actually very high though.

0.0125% chance of that happening (the same odds as any other sequence of 3 rolls). So it's possible.

I just never had anything like that happen before. I seriously thought maybe I wasn't supposed to open that door for some reason.

Computers cannot do true random.

yeah that's a problem with RNG...it's all a pattern.

when tied to internal clocks the difference is so minor that it functionally does not matter, especially when you cannot repeat an internal timers value again.

They can do something that is so close to random that it's irrelevant. The problem isn't the PC, it's human brains not understanding statistics.

EDIT: zero, I swear to God, stop posting faster than I do or I'll kick your ass in a MMZ game of your choice. Yes, I know they don't have PvP, just go with it.

That's an odd take. I understand statistics just fine. And I know the chances of rolling 3 natural 1s on a 1d20 is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ astronomical.

Oh it did upload right.
Yeah, I have a 0.000125 chance of getting those three ones back to back. This is the first I've actually recorded the proof of it happening since I normally get at least this many among my characters distributed evenly in a short fight, but not this close together.

Edit:
Holy f*** this was empty a short bit ago.
