trying to kill the hag but the face masks kills me

this is the most stupid quest ive ever played in a video game.. so to get through that wood door i need to put on a mask, but that mask makes my own caracter turn on me and kill everyone.

You don't have to put on the mask.

You don't need to put anything on? You go in her cellar, pass her "playgrounds" face a door. The door is an illusion, you can freely pass through. I assume thats what you meant.

The quest isn't stupid, you just didn't explore your options well enough.

No its Locked shut wont let me through. it just keeps showing the same cut sceen "the hag walks through you see the vision".

You can also just walk right into the hut and murder her. If you have volo's glass eye you can nuke her to death in a round since she wastes her first turn casting invisibility. You'll still be able to rescue whatsherface and complete the quest afterwards.

Enter turn-based mode, put on mask, move party to the other side, take off mask. Only one character needs to have mask equipped.

Maybe try a reload? You should be able to just walk right through it after seeing that scene.

Click behind the door.

Cast a protection against Good and Evil, it blocks the negative effects of the mask. And yeah, you absolutely can just walk trough the door, just click on space behind it.

i also passed all the checks and noticed the door wasn't real (even did it on multiple characters) but it wouldn't let me walk through it until i put on one of the masks reguardless.

(i put it on Astarion and when he walked through everyone walked through with him (need to click in the darkness behind the door by swinging the camera around)
though i never had any problems with them going mad and attacking my own party. in fact i only noticed Astarion was still wearing the mask like 4-5 hours later when i was long done with the Hag lol

You dont need the mask to enter the first wooden door
You can enter the second wooden door AFTER dealing with Auntie which removes the mask effect from happening after putting it on

Just click on the dark space on the other side of the door..... as it's an illusion and not an actual door.
