How to deal with so many save files?

I noticed in the game options you can set how many files to have for quick save and auto save. I set them both to 25 but I still have almost a hundred save files??? and it's taking a ton of bandwidth uploading all of that to steam every time I close the game. What's the point of even setting a certain number of saves? I thought setting it to 25 means that there's effectively 25 save slots and they just override each other past 25.

Load the game, delete the saves, you can delete them all at once. save game, now you only got 1 save left.

Yea my save folder is close to 2GB. Didnt buy the game till it left EA and have like 30 hours of playtime.

I was wondering why steam cloud takes so long when I close the game lol

I do need to go in the game and delete several no longer needed quicksaves mainly.

Do this. Be sure you're comfortable not moving any earlier than that point though because that save will be your only lifeline left.

Sounds like you didn't properly delete early access files.

You should not have more than what you set in the settings.

I keep five quicksave files and five auto saves.

I didn't play during EA. I just started playing a few days ago.

Bumping this because I seem to have the same issue. I have autosaves set to 3 and quick saves set to 5, but I've had to bulk-delete about 250 quick saves just now 🙃

Steam Cloud is crap. I turned it off years ago and save files locally, after which I back them up manually when I'm finished playing.

I delete mine regularly to keep it fresh and clean.
