Does anyone know if there's more too the secrets of the book? Final quote was along the lines of there are more secrets without a key that may be locked away forever? Just wondering if anyone got an item or did something that allowed more secrets to be unlocked besides speaking with the dead skill?

What do you get from the book? I chose to destroy it (in the middle of the druids' ritual, to let them deal with the shadows lol - while still getting the xp when they killed them).

I just read in another thread that there is something related to it in Act 3, which (if successful) grants another special ability. Spoiler if you want it the ability is to summon some ghouls

I destroyed it too, but reading it instead gets you the ability to speak with dead at will, if you succeed on all the checks required.

Also gives +1 to all ability checks and saving throws, which is pretty awesome ^^

Talk with the dead and ask em 5 questions. Then apparently from another comment on here you can summon ghouls.

Well, Speak with Dead at will isn't a big loss since there's an amulet that does the same very early into the gapme, but the other bonus mentioned would have been nice. Guess that will be for another playthrough! (same with the owlbear cub... and the Zhentarim chest... and probably a lot of stuff I missed on)
