Deceive Yurgir to kill his party

Do deceiving approach and direct combat provide same amount of exp?

Direct combat always grants more XP.
Doesn't stop me from dialoguing my way out if I can.

I dont know ... but it can turn out in your favour if Yurgir listens to your wisdom. ;D
On the other hand ... you gain soooo much EXP without much efforts in game ... I was much earlier lvl 12 than progressed the main story.

I talked the bosses of winery & tax office to death... guess I've lost a ton of exp damn it

So your enemies are way under-leveled than you? In such case I guess I don't have to worry too much about it... :S

Just play dodgeball with him, I learned that trick from somewhere and it's a breeze.

Bombs away. Also don't be warlock if you want to decive him, it doesn't trigger for warlocks for some reason.

anyone know what happens to the pet if u convince it to fight with u and u win the fight with it alive?
Does it just leave orcan it join u?

Even though I succeeded the persuasion checks with displacer beast, it still got mad at the suggestion it should attack Yurgir and all aggroed. Has anyone figured out how to complete the ritual with candles when the rat teleports in to bottom of Shar statue? I placed candles lit them etc, nothing really happened. I may be missing something here, might not even be a ritual to complete.

Pushing the Toll Collector out the window and making the doctor and his nurses stab themselves was glorious.

I deleted the poor demon in the 1st turn, and unfortunately you have to kill the kitty as well, to win the fight.

Wait a sec, you can talk to it? Can you convince it not to join the fight?

Even succeeding with persuasion checks where it agrees Yurgir does not love it (some really weird dynamic there eh...) it still ends up hostile if you suggest it join or assist you. Pet Pal is one of the best things in the game ;o

I've already missed 2 pets in my current run :(
I missed the baby owlbear at first (I didn't kill it, but somehow it didn't show up at the goblin camp)...
And I missed this one.

I can say that I tried both ways, to convince him to kill himself or to kill them all myself (not a very hard fight). The difference was huge, by doing the fight myself I got 4960 XP, or 1240 XP per party member. Unfortunately doing something as cool as convincing him to end his life on his own doesn't reward you enough...

Plus you will lose a very good hand-crossbow for Astarion and other nice loot, so better do the fight

You get the crossbow eitherway. The only difference is that you get less exp. I know that because i talked my way out of it and looted his crossbow from his remains (ashpile).

I don't think you can get the displacer beast for yourself... It'd be nice though.
