Can't switch to another character.

Usually I was able to switch between characters outside of the combat by simply clicking on their avatar, so my abilities pannel would change. However, after todays update I'm not able to do so, the camera moves to another character, but the abilities pannel is stil attached to the previous character and I still can move only with the previous character. Is there any solution to this problem?
I can still switch between characters, but only by entering turn based mode, so the switch happens correctly. However, this is not convenient.

Dont use mods

It's not related to mods, it can happen if you trigger a dialog and the npc that initiated the dialog dies immediately, so your character is bugged, long rest or restart can fix it.

Have this bug. Long rest, dispanding the party and still no results. Was just talking to an npc then went to switch to another party member to do some stealing. Now can only access other party members via turn based mode and cannot right click to send anything to camp. Has basically crippled my playthrough.

Glad it didn't corrupt old saves like the last bug i encountered. Had to go back several saves then delete every save with the issue in it. Now having to redo lost content.

This is very weird, didn't think it wasn't patched, hope you will never encounter this bug in the future.
