Bastard Sword

Where are the Bastard Swords and are they going to be added? My favourite swords from D&D and they are not in BG3.

5E doesn't have bastard swords. The long sword got it's functionality rolled into it.

Several other weapons also have the same kind of functionality (can be wielded 1 handed or 2). Look for the word "Versatile" on the weapon's tooltip. That means it can be wielded 1 handed or 2 handed, with the damage being greater for 2 handed wielding.

Longswords are essentially bastard swords in the game.

The only thing good about Bastard swords was the extra damage they could do. That is now a function of the Longsword, which has the Versatile trait. It made Bastard Swords obsolete.

I know it's not the same - but the longswords kind of take their role due to their versatile tag.

But yeah, having all the D&D weapons would be nice. Bastard swords and dual blade swords always were my favourites =)

DnD 5e lacks weapon variety. The Longsword can be used either way.
