Yurgir directly attacks but I want to talk to him :(

I saw onlien that you can convince Yurgir to do a couple of things so the fight will be easier.. but as soon as I enter the room he is in, the fight starts. On youtube people go in and talk first.
Am I doing something wrong?

I'm getting the same issue. Spotted the ambush, left the area when I realized I probably wasn't ready for it, then came back and he instantly attacks. I get no options to speak with him.

It depends on where and how you meet him as far as I understand. When you first time encounter his pantera like beast just follow it and you will meet Yurgir and will be able to talk with him

if the fight is too difficult, before the area there's a broken staircase, jump to the otherside and start combat from there.

His minions won't jump down and he will shoot grenades at you, which you can throw back at him and his minions to kill them.
He is able to jump down though, but he's not that difficult to take down.

U have to go into the room within a short timeframe of the displacer beast leading you there.

If you go off doing other things and come back they just attack immediately.

Strange decision by Larian if u ask me. Not sure why time would play a role in provoking an attack

You need to do first the rats subquest in The Gauntlet of Shar to uncover Raphael's plot. When done go to Yurgir and you will have a devilish conversation with Raphael and Yurgir. What you decides to do at this point will have consequences later in the game.

No. You don't. In fact, that's a pretty sure way to piss Astarion off, since it breaks the arrangement with Rafael.

I didn't care about pissing off Astarion. At the end, I gotYurgir on my side on the battle in the House of Hope against Raphael and got Yurgir as an ally on the final battle.Either way of what you are doing with Yurgir, it will pissed off almost all your party members or you will get approvals from almost all of them.

Okay, but, again, you still don't need to do the rats first. And you can get him on your side without doing it as well. Didn't piss anyone in my party off either.

Or it just matches, what Raphael said? I mean I remember, he warned the party, that when they "open that door, you will have just a blink of an eye, strike first, before he can do anything!". But yea, maybe it's just me and Larian made a weird decision for no reason, absolutely unrelated to any story, or character whatsoever, dunno.
