ALL NPCS DISAPPEARED, THE MAP IS EMPTY- Grymforge Bug?
I went to the Grymforge and interacted with the NPCs normally, all worked out fine then I went to the camp and after coming back the entire Map was just empty. There's literally not a single NPC left. How can I fix this?

Reload other save. It happens when Neil (or whatever) dark elf dies. So when you come to grymforge map you cannot go to camp or use portals outside of map. If you do so you will see dialogue, which states that this dark elf gonna die if you teleport, which doesn't even make sense, because this could happen even if you didn't meet him. And you cannot stop teleporting or going to camp after that note. So they don't even warn you and just saying that he gonna die. Speak about "very detailed game"
Edit: BTW you cannot save slaves that way (if he dies by himself), because those gnomes take them and you lose some moontower quest to find one of their friends as missing additional char in your camp

I just reloaded an older save and checked, but there is no warning message popping up at all for me. There's also one singular NPC named "skickpit" that will pop up from the void when you interact with the elevator gate to talk to you and then just disappears again. It's also kind of essential to go to camp at that point if you don't have shadowheart in you party, as it seems like this area is relevant to her story and she has actual dialogue there. I just can't believe that any of this would be intentional...
I've had the same bug, and I've played through the area in three different ways to try to avoid it - all with the same result: totally empty level.

To make sure I wasn't affected by the "leaving the level kills Nere" thing that Hanzo mentioned, which does seem intentional, I've gone back to a save right before entering, taken the shortest possible path to beating Nere without resting or exiting the area at all, and I literally have quicksaves before fighting him (where everything is fine) and immediately after fighting him (where the entire map is totally empty - no NPCs, no enemies, no nothing).

It's bugged. But you might be able to avoid it by reloading a save from before you enter the area, and making sure not to leave. That wasn't enough for me, I've done it three times and still affected, but maybe it might work for you.
Sure it's a bug ? Depending on how you deal with the Deurgar you can get them to abandon the port section after Nere is dealt with.
Afaik this is the first time Long Rest/Camp progressing the story happens.
I know it was briefly discussed at the beginning of the game, but it is easily forgotten.

I didn't even get to Nere, I was still pretty much at the beginning of the map when they disappeared, just interacted with some slavers. Nere was the only named NPC I found whose corpse was still lying around the place without context after everyone was gone so I could still take his head, but it doesn't feel right. No warnings, no mention of what happened, just nothing
I did Grymforge during early access and you could explore the area with as many long rests as you want.

I didn't think it was realistic for Nere to be stuck in that cave for a week while I explored and I guess Larian didn't either.

When you get to Grymforge - you can teleport out of Gyrmforge to your camp exactly twice before Nere dies to the poison.

I reloaded - used cantrips to defeat everything I wanted in Gyrmforge, then confronted the dwarves - then freed Nere - then went into the underground forge chamber.

You have two long rests to complete the Nere section before he dies. You can't save the gnomes unless you do it in that time frame.
They're being paid by Nere. If he dies from the poison it would make sense that they packed up and left (and took the gnome slaves with them).
I think it is just how story progresses .

After a while everyone was gone from Grymforge for me as well. I was with that because i could freely explore and loot everything.
Well , i free'd him and he then said he was going back and free'd the slaves.
But then shortly after down the stairs , At the cages you find multiple drows and one off the druigers says nere is death , but neither has he's clothing? Is this a bug?
LOL. I didn't even know it was a bug. I thought the Duergers had abandoned the place after I killed their boss - and the Dark Gnomes just skeldaddled back to BG. I thought the place was now eerily empty and echoing.
If nere's death laying there, it means the quest failed. You cant long rest of leave underdark while you're on that quest.

It isnt a bug and is intentionial.

Probably something has been changed from EA, because even if I go to camp 1 time (no rest, just teleport through UI) then when I've returned he was dead. Happened even if I didn't meet him before going to camp.
oof yeah, this is definitely inconsistent with everything else you experience up to this point. The number of long rests dont matter when you're rushed to save the druid, or cure the parasite, or save someone from a hag, event though the game presents all of those as time sensitive. It definitely feels like a bug.

I went back to camp a couple times just to dye my clothes, and then all the npcs were gone. I didnt realize there were supposed to be npcs until hours later, so reverting to an old save would just waste too much time. I didn't take any long rests, and everyone left.

Even if it depended on long rests this would still be inconsistent and feels buggy. The forge is so confusing without any npcs.

LoL this happened to me, fortunately I had already beat them game and decided to play again as a pure chaos evil character as the dark urge and people always end up dead after camp, I just assumed he went phsyco and killed everyone including nere. Altough I did find many new places in the forge and looted like crazy, and its a time saver. But yeah very weird, got off the boat, this elf was acting tough to me so I challenged her, then poof everyone gone except for some deamon pigs in the secret high bit and the forge boss.
