Is critical fail has higher chance than critical success?
I was unlocking a big door, spent 30 lockpicks and had 6 critical fails in that time. In combat also from time to time i can get two critical fails back to back. Positive crits are not nearly as often

Karmic dice is disabled, so it supposed to be pure rng

It’s 5 percent either way. So every roll you have a five percent chance for a 1 or 20.

The issue is the stat bonuses. Starting level 1 are fairly weak. If you examine the goblins their stats even the low level ones are fairly high dex pushing 17 or 18? Are they small as well?

So if it’s an 18 dex that’s a plus four AC. Base AC is 10 right so a fifty percent chance to hit with no bonuses. Add +4 makes it 14. So a zero bonus attack would require I believe a 15 to 20? Been awhile. Someone can correct me.

But it’s a wash because the default recommended for fighters is probably a 3 point bonus.

So starting out it’s about a fifty percent chance to hit or miss give or take. So getting height. Buying gear that gives you plus to hit and AC each point adds like a 5 percent bonus in either direction.

Upgrade gear as soon as you can. It’s a big difference. Either way starting out is pretty tough. Get height to gain advantage. And upgrade gear. That should help with the early game a lot.

critical failure does not care about your stats, it's always 1

Yes if you roll a one you either use inspiration or roll with it...hell maybe even save scum.

Rolling 1's is just more memorable.

You can always play as a Halfling Divination Wizard with the Lucky feat^^.

This is so just a f.. joke, seriously. Turned off karmic dice and we keep rolling ones and values <4 every single fight in 90% of all fights. We're so frustrated, the game really makes no fun like that.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
