Smite Reactions Not working

So I am playing a Paladin Bard multi class. I noticed that I can no longer use smite reactions. I have it set up in my reaction window to ask me if I want to smite on a hit and on a critical. However, all of the smite options appear grey and when I hover over it it says (This reaction is not available).
I have tried long-resting, I have tried re-settings my class with Withers, but the issue persists. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Is there any way to fix it or am I just screwed out of using smite unless I manually use it for every attack.

I'm running into the same issue. I have reactions because sentinel/opportunity attacks will still trigger. I also have spell slots but for the life of me, I cannot figure out why the game is telling my reactions for smite is "unavailable".

I'm assuming it's a mechanic and not a bug but I can't figure out the interaction that is blocking smite.

Edit: it seem to be related to disguise self ability. If you use that, it will block certain reactions.

I was having the same issue and it seems that you can not shapeshift or most reactions would mark it selfs as not available. Maybe you were doing the same.

Downing your character and healing him up should resolve the issue with missing reactions. Just tried it out and it worked.

Thanks for the tip, haven't tried that yet.

Wanted to add to this. I was using shape shift with that mask and it was preventing the Paladin reactions!
