Is this game purely turn based or a hybrid

A hybrid like Dragon age inquisition , in which you could play without point and click.
So is there a way you could play it without turn based mechanic ??

Not really. The alternative might be to approach things as a pacifist but you're likely to run into some turn-based scenarios.

Its a hybrid kind of. Turned based in combat outside of its not. Would be too clunky I think if you tried to not play it in turned based. I think you could turn it off but unless your playing with 3 friends your not going to want to do that cause your allies would just stand around doing nothing while getting pelted by enemies.

could work if the game combat was made easier but anyone who has played BG1/BG2 will tell you they pressed space like 5000 times a fight.

Anyway, BG3 is purely turn based once combat starts. It ... mostly works.
