Dark urge for first playthrough?

is it worth doing a first playthrough as them or making another custom/picking a different origin a better option?

They actually say don't do Dark Urge, Play a custom character so you can see all the choices that you can make in the game. Dark Urge is more towards you want to focus on trying to fight a killing Urge or let it happen and be a murder hobo

I wouldn't. There are certain choices and urges that you're unable to resist in the game, and overall it's a VERY dark and bleak experience. I tried, but I felt bad doing some of it. despite the extra content, I think it should be reserved for a second or third playthrough if at all.

I played Dark Urge first and didn't have a bad time. Go for it.

Why though? Standard custom works just as well. Better even, since you're not railroaded into being a murderhobo

I rather have an interesting backstory to play when I'm going solo plus I've been able to resist the urges so far... if I can't then cool I'm interested to see what happens

You stomp a squirrel to death in one scene. and there's a lot of mutilation and torture.

Personally, I prefer being able to build my character's personality from the ground up rather than being handed a script. But if you like Dark Urge hey, you do you. Single player game (mostly).

Dark Urge has flavour text you'll miss if you haven't played already, it also drastically changes some aspects of the game that you can't control, if you're fine with some characters outright being removed then go for it, personally think it's a better one for a 2nd playthrough to see the nuances and differences from a regular playthrough.

Did I miss something in character creator? Is the Dark Urge that blacked out dragonborn when you select origins?

I did dark urge blind without any knowledge of it, and it's kinda fun. You're definitely going full edgelord but it's really cool, and kinda makes you able to justify less moral party members. but people will be mad. Dark urge drow for max edge.

you can change his class/background but default he's dragon yes
