Just got to the fight with Marcus. Lost it. The slaughter was worse than I thought. Several NPCs I liked are dead. Dammon, Alfira, and Barcus Root all died in the fight, though Dammon's death seemed unavoidable. Anyone else got this outcome and became as depressed as I am right now?

Unless you're the biggest badass in Faerun or you're savescumming, this is the outcome you'll get walking into the fight

Yeah im depressed about it too. Given the overwhelming odds, and Isobels suicidal tendancies (she will just outright run with 3 enemies next to her without disengaging), i think we are meant for it to happen. My issue was i didnt talk to all the npc's first :(

As ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as things are, I made myself a promise to play things out regarding my choices, even with how horrifically bad things ended. The thing that hurts the most is that I still have the quests these guys gave me to go save their friends in Moonrise Towers. I'm still going to do it but I'm not looking forward to them discovering their friends are all dead back home x.x

It's totally winnable without losing anyone. It is one of the rougher ones, because keeping the girl from going down is rough due to the paralysis, but I managed it just barely on my first attempt.

Throwing an invisibility potion at Isobel after she's paralyzed makes it a lot easier, although it definitely took me a few tries to win the fight.

if you keep the priest alive via healing her you can prevent the demise of the inn and keep all the npcs/hub area[
its really an easy fight if you survive the first four turns as everyone in the settlement will kill all the spawned mobs easily, you just need to focus on marcus really.

Thats why I made over 300 saves. That battle the devils are randomly placed and I was lucky enough to have one attempt with only the boss in my room and the rest just attacking the NPC with most HP down there. No one dies, no one kidnapped. Good exp.

SPOILERS RELATED TO QUEST
If Marcus is the winged guy who smashes through the window, I hammered him. However, I actually did this quest after a few others and read Isobels Diary and found her room rather late. Ah! Yes - I got side tracked with a Lute! So - to the lute and back, the cow fight, armour bit with the horny dancing black dude and some general map opening scraps and then Isobel. I think I just didn't go to the second floor for ages, so when I did I was OP maybe?

I failed to remember the Tieflings and Wulbren being at Moonrise due to being stuck on the Gauntlet of Shar. Basically i've failed t do what I promised I would do at the beginning of the game. Both the oaths I made ro the affected characters and the ones I made to myself before I even began playing.

And that has made me very sad.

DAMN! That's what I did. Must be why I leveled up so quickly. I must have unlocked 4-5 areas in ACT two and had one or two peripheral tough scraps for XP then bounced back to town to sell my gear and done the Isobel bit after then. Hah.

you can litterally push her down the stairs, and the other npcs will protect her.

then you can just murder the Absolutist and get your free Tadpole.

you can also murder him before hand, at the entrance, and out him as a absolutist scum.

and they attack him.

or use shadowheart and use her as isobels pocket healer.
