Anyone else having issues with the combat movement/pathing?
I'm constantly having characters take really bizarre paths, run up right next to an enemy to hit it with a ranged weapon when they could've taken the shot from where they were, and just generally feels really buggy. They waste allotted movement, unnecessarily subject themselves to reaction hits, get caught going up then back down ladders, etc. It's especially bad in the underdark where there are several layers to the environment. I know it's supposed to show your line of travel but there have been instances where it seems to glitch out and take a different path than the one shown, or, more often, doesn't allow you to take a path/shot you should be able to.

What am I missing? It's getting really frustrating.

Not usually. Before you click it'll show you what movement path the character will take to get there, if they will move at all.

The problem I have the most is people walking right into dangerous surfaces while we're moving in a group, instead of pathing around them as common sense would suggest. I know this used to be a common problem but I thought modern games had overcome it.

There can be objects in the way. I normally try different paths and jump options to compare. You can also do smaller paths and keep going until you run out of movement. You don't have to do the full movement all in one click.

In regards to the ranged shot, pay attention to the line that goes from your character. Theres "locational" targeting so to speak, so you can shoot at the head, or move the cursor down towards their feet and shoot there. Your character might have to make movement to shoot depending where you are clicking.
