Can i rest while sieging Moonrise?
Title. I beat the first floor after setting it to easy and still having to try 4 times. Those zealots seem to have +25 weapons, considering they literally didn't miss my 23 AC paladin once that entire fight, and wiped my barbarian second turn. I literally stand no chance if the game doesnt want me to long rest now, but I don't want to deal with any "You shouldnt rest now" consequences, like the captured refugees dying or Thorm escaping.

I specially went left and through the kitchen instead of straight in, and was able to use multiple high level spells that did huge AOE to chunk down baddies before they could take a turn.

I also heard you can sneak past the first floor encounter and just head up to the boss but you will miss out on a good chunk of XP from all the combat you skip.
I don't know if this was an option to me, because I released the Nightsong, and the entire harper army in last light joined me to fight. Maybe I could've tried a side route, which would've made it a lot easier, but considering all the harpers were charging in through the front, i figured that was my only option. Definitely don't think stealth was a valid option for me with that though, and the harpers literally failed to help at all oof.
I did the harper route as well. After trying following the harpers in like 5 or 6 times I tried to poke around the sides. Found out the harpers will run in, but stand in a formation/standoff until combat is intiaited by you via conversation or combat you started. Should totally give it a shot on future runs, probably only reason I managed to clear that first floor without anyone dying.

Bumping, i don't wanna continue the game forward unless I know I can rest, or if I have to start the whole fight over and start from easy mode, instead of switching halfway through. This tower stresses me out, trying to keep Jaheira alive, my party alive, and well enough to avoid whatever consequences the game has.

What I did was just back out of the towers the way I came in past the little blue shield thing. jahira (sp?) waited at Moonrise for me to return and I was able to camp and then go back in.

And nothing bad happened as a result? For example, Halsin can escape the goblin camp if you rest there intead of going to him. I'm trying to get this first playthrough into a happy ending.

To my knowledge nothing bad happened on my playthough. The only thing weird was Jahira was following me and I could control her, but after resting she became bugged out and I could not interact with her and she was no longer part of my party.

Thats fantastic news! It also means I probably didn't actually need to turn the game down to easy at all, considering I only did under the assumption I was under a time constraint and needed the Hp. Oh well.

Thanks a lot for that advice! Next playthrough will probably go a lot smoother when we arent all crushed and black holed into a tiny chokepoint. I only really failed 4 attempts because I kept the condition "Keep Jaheira Alive" as a goal, and reloaded whenever she died, though I will say the Zealots are ridiculous. Dudes did 2 hits per turn and 30 damage per hit, and must be crazy accurate, dudes never missed my 23 AC paladin once lmao, don't know if I was unlucky or if they are just that insane. Definitely gonna use the additional options side entries grant next playthrough I do tho.

It seems I may have to do this all again anyways. It says "We never found the tieflings at moonrise tower.", something I did damned them ig.

Yeah, I'm not allowed to release "Her" before helping the tieflings. Does anyone know, if I wipe out everyone in Moonrise's prison, will that make it easier for the harpers/myself to fight them together during the siege? It seems the warden will be in my way, so might have to eliminate them early

as an update, I redid stuff from before the fight and redid the fight. As expected, I didn't even need to turn the difficulty down, especially this time since I used a side entrance. This time, unlike my previous attempts, only about half the harpers and fists died instead of all of them, and those that died once again decided to aggro onto a guardian of faith for no reason. Only one character went down the whole fight due to the zealots and their divine smites. Used dominate person on Z'rell to start the fight and she absolutely tore the battlefield apart and distracted her own forces for a solid turn. Simply changing how I entered allowed me to act far more tactically, and I was able to win without needing to lower difficulty.

All the above answers are great! However one thing I found out, and this is because I didn’t go down the route of bringing the nightsinger or the Harpers is using potions of Angelic Reprise and Slumber - give the effects of short and long rests respectively, and reprise gives all level 1 and 2 spell slots back, so combined with arcane cultivation potions are awesome. Having these on you in these situations are great. Able to clear the tower until the big fight use these and hey presto.

Key thing isto not interact with Jaheira after that first floor fight as she'll give you angry face and comment she wants to go straight into the Thorm fight, then breaks from you and even if she says she'll join you again, she didn't show up against Thorm. On my 2nd campaign, I simply didn't interact with her after the fight, looted everyone and traded with the trader (you can even skip this part and simply send it all back to camp and then sell it off in the city later on - that said, the trader here is a good one with good stuff, just expensive and grab the Angelic Reprieve for later in Act 3 as someone else mentioned above, that's good stuff), then left towards the gate point (as someone above pointed out, just go back out the way you came in until you exit the blue-dark), took a long rest, came back down, talked/interacted with Jaheira and I was on my way, nothing lost; also, after Thorm, you come back to Moonrise, so you can clear the tower out and loot and trade before even going to the city as you'll have to walk there from the Road to Balder's Gate waypoint, so you can still wrap a few things up before moving on to Act 3. I think "Long Rests" don't do anything to story, game timeline or anything with only exception you can't go to camp in some locations, but I think (never tried it) you can still take long rests if you have enough food on you in camp-leaving-restricted areas, it just won't be at camp. Long and short, doesn't appear long rests jack with anything except at least here if you interact with Jaheira after the fight concludes too quickly. I freed the NightSong and had the Harpers come with me from Last Light Inn and stormed through the front. I have every character with Misty Step (incredible strategic magic capability) and had my characters pop on over to the other side and ice stormed the nonsense out of the enemies, had someone Misty Step to the rafters and take out those archers above (Jaheira uses Ice Storm, so don't use Fireball on the icy surfaces she creates so enemies can and do fall prone). I don't think I lost a single Harper, maybe one person. One thing I don't care for is Jaheira's tactics, she'll animal shape, then go after another enemy taking an opportunity attack from a current adjacent enemy to her and then come back to the one that swiped her - like the game is putting her in jeopardy on purpose or something. Spreading yourself out nullifies the amplification of AOE damage on your party (the black hole attack only had my Karlach sucked in before she was able to take off into the battlefield). Also it gets you to range targets quickly and can interrupt their concentration spells more effectively. The mind control on one enemy someone said above is sweet, I keep forgetting to check enemies Wisdoms and then do Hold Persons and the like on the weaker ones). Misty Step for the win, my friends!

If you want to rescue the thieflings, you have to go to moonrise -before- the gauntlet of shar. Yes, Ketheric is immune and you should not fight him, but theres plenty to interact with beforehand. I usually kill everything there with my own squad. The whole tower doesnt go super agro when you start a fight at this point in time. Also means no excessively long battles with the whole harper gang along.
