ending act 1 and im lvl 6.....
i mean game is supposed to have only 12 lvls. Doest it mean that act 2-3 are so much shorter or its just bad balance?

Levelling is usually slower the higher you go, and I'm not there yet but I imagine you spend a portion of the endgame at level cap even if you can't go any higher
i feel like act 2 and 3 were rushed but the experience will slow down.
im about half way into level 11 and im approaching the final fight. I might be level 12 in time for the final battle, if not, ill ding after I win. i multiclassed so that extra level isnt anything im looking forward to.

my theory is that the builk of the hours you'll spend in the game are through multiple playthroughs, not the single playthrough. So it might feel rushed by maybe your second playthrough will be different enough that it seems like a completely different game. thats my hope.

I'd like to try a playthrough where everyone lives. maybe as dark urge.

I am level 7 somewhere in act 2. I just hit the Gauntlet of Shar while going towards the Towers, and found out I need to be here first anyway. So probably not even halfway, I fully expect to hit level 9 before act 3, maybe even 10.

I was level 7 after doing everything I could in Act I and I am level 8 and I have not even done Moonrise yet in Act 2.

I thought about this too but would you rather reach your peak at the end of the game or enjoy the power earlier? For me it was nice to be able to experiment on max level characters for a while before ending the game. I wouldn't want to reach my peak at the end of the game and only be able to enjoy it for a few fights.

I was lvl 9 when I ended act 1, I think you'll just reach the cap sooner, depending on how diligently you were exploring and doing the side missions

Level 10 with over 80 hours and just now entering the actual city of Baldur's Gate. So many places to explore along the way and I wanted to see everything I could find. The levels do slow down as the exp needed grows, although if the city has tons going on like they said, I expect I could hit max level before the end. But that is ok. The journey has been awesome.

Relax, I'm at the beginning of Act 3 50 hours into the game and only Level 9. It gets slower as the game progresses.

If by the end of act 1 you havent figured out what is important for a game like this. I am guessing more "levels" wont do anything for you.

I am lvl 9 going into act 3

Do not look at the level, but at quests and choices you have made.

im level 5 and havnt touched underdark or the goblin hideout yet.
it's getting a tad too easy even on tactician lol

i think the game is balanced towards ppl that dive through and not ppl that meticulously comb and min/max exp

Sounds about right to me.
Sounds like you are not familiar with 5e's experience scaling.
