I think I broke the game (Underdark Forge - Grym)
I am in the Underdark Forge and I cant deal any damage to the Grym Boss just before you forge a weapon.

Context: In my first attempt to I died 6 times then I decided to flee now 5 to 6 hours later I came back for round 2 and its not taking any kind of damage at all even Bludgeon Damage and the forge hammer is not even dealing 1 damage

Hence why I think its broken.
Any advice will be appreciated

Are you making sure that you hit the valve to release the lava to get him superheated? otherwise you do very little to no damage. That's the only thing I can think of.

Fact you're saying after two rounds you no longer are dealing damage means it lost the Superheated debuff it only gets from standing in the Lava. The game tells you by no uncertain terms, only way to damage Gyrm is to keep it Superheated if you've read any of the books on the forge, or just read the information on Gyrm himself when examining.

Superheated Condition
Exposure to lava has caused Grym's adamantine body to soften.
Can now be affected by certain damage types and is vulnerable to Bludgeoning damage.

I tried to use the valve before I use the forge hammer but no lava is pouring out, even without the lava in the arena the forge hammer does 0 bludgeoning damage

Forge is going to deal zero damage because Gyrm is immune to all damage unless Superheated.

Well that's odd, because it should release lava every time you hit the wheel. Has the forge descended to the bottom level? The normal procedure is to first put your mold, and ore in the appropriate spots, hit the lever, the forge descends, you open the lava valve, use the hammer, and grym appears. Maybe because you left and came back it reset? I'm not sure. Try shooting the valve wheel with an arrow to from afar if manually hitting it does nothing.

Share a savegame from before you starting the fight.

If they tried claiming the gear before releasing the lava it can cause the game to lock up the lava after it first flows out. Only way I was able to fix it was to rush to the other end of the platform, claim the forged gear, then shoot the wheel to release the lava.

I believe this is a known bug. If you load from a save where this fight is in progress, Grym permanently loses its superheated status and cannot become superheated again regardless of whether it is standing in lava or not.

We shall see once threadstarter shared their savegame.

And if they truly have a bug, it is best they report it properly.

send in your issue here alongside your savegame and the video/screenshots

via email support@larian.com

or

only with your feedback Larian can fix it in the future :spacehamster:

So I tried hitting the lever for the lava to flow but it says *stuck* or *wont budge* I interacted, used fists and hammer but it did not move or allowed the lave to flow. I even tried interacting with the forge but still no Luck.

I found my BG3 savefiles and uploaded them to my google drive
link - REDACTED

I wont submit any formal support feedback to Larian until I get confirmation 100% from one of you guys in this thread that it is an actual bug. I just dont want to waste any devs time of something that I might be doing wrong

If the wheel worked first time and is stuck now, then maybe something is missing. Make sure to check all the compartments (the crucible mostly) if everything is in its place.

The instructions are like this:
- put ingredients in their respective compartments (the mold into its slot, the ore into the crucible in the middle)
- pull the lever, a hammer will slam into the crucible and the platform will lower
- position your party members on each of the four circles, one should be near the wheel
- turn the wheel, lava will pour in and a cutscene with Grym will play
- fight Grym and occasionally turn the wheel, when he loses the "superheated" status, get him into the lava ASAP
- after the fight loot Grym for his helmet (optional) and pull the lever, it will complete the forging process, you can then take whatever item it created
- optionally put another ore into the crucible, if you have more than one piece as the first one got consumed, take the mold out and put another one in its slot and repeat the process excluding the fight, you'll get another item, if you have more ore, you can craft several items.

So if the wheel can't turn, check if all ingredients are in place and then try again.
It would be preferable to load an earlier save before the Grym fight even started and follow those instructions.
