Shovel for Shadow magic sorc?

Is there a way to obtain Shovel permanently as a shadow magic sorc?

Pretty sure non-cleric magic users can get Shovel via a dialogue choice. To make it easier/less likely to snarl up, get the book from the area you find Shovel in before trying to summon them.

I don't know if shadow sorc as the right dialogue. If you aren't on honor mode just try it and reload if it doesn't work. If you are on honor mode you can get shovel for two respecs. Respec to wizard, learn the spell, respec to shadow sorc.

I'd recommend reading the Wiki on shovel, but the short answer is yes you can get shovel on any caster.

It's also much easier to get Shovel if you read the Book of Thay first and get Forbidden Knowledge. I usually wait to summon him until I've done that just because it's almost foolproof.

You cannot get Shovel as a Storm Sorcerer. She is afraid of and hate them. She is horny for Draconic Sorcerers though.

Yeah i know most can, though Shovel seems scared to hell from my shadow magic sorc. xD

Storm sorcerers and wild magic sorcerers are a "no". Warlocks and wizards are a "yes". Dragon sorcerers are a "yes".

I guess it sounds like shadow sorcerers are a "no".

I was able to get Shovel as a shadow sorc. It was either because I picked the right dialogue choices or because I used the disguise mask to make myself a dragonborn.

Your race shouldn't matter, I think, although Shovel *is* quite excited about dragonborns.

Are you saying you got her as a permanent summon? Not just a one-time summon from the scroll?

It would indeed be interesting if being a dragonborn overrides Shovel's refusal to stay with certain types of sorcerers.

Can't you just learn the scroll? Thats what i did.

To get shovel permanently, simply talk to shovel a few times after summoning. Multiple dialogs.

When she repeats the same line, you should get the summon on your hot bar.
