Mods, how to use them in Patch 8?
So how do mods work in BG3 now? I'm really only interested in visual mods and container mods but I need a bit of a primer to make sure I don't screw up my game :P

I've found most cosmetic mods still work fine. It's mainly gameplay or interface mods that will screw you up.

But things like heads, faces, outfits, jewelry, makeup, etc etc. They all seem fine, at least all the ones I'm using.
Also, if you're using the in-game mod manager, there's a 'Patch 8 Tested' filter you can apply while browsing for mods. Haven't had a problem yet as long as I stick to those.
Thanks guys!

Nobody is updating their mods for patch 8. I think one of my mods has been updated (Better UI) the dozens of other mods I was using are all out of date. The modding scene is dead in this game.
I've been going through them, some of the not tested still work some don't. I'm happy the Hip Sheathing mods work :) and unhappy that the Visible Shield mod doesn't :(

The shield dye mod still works though, so that's something.
You should be fine to use the same mods by now, unless you're using a very obscure mod that had been abandoned before patch 8.

Which of the 10 Commandments does this break? Can anyone tell me?

The closest one I could find is this one:

#9. “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.”
It's the only one that even mentioned lying.
The Modding scene is definitely not dead for this game.

At the contrary, the Modders found out how to create levels and there is amazing modded campaign being worked on ("Path to Menzoberranzan", "Curse of Stradh", ""Forsaken", etc...) and BG3 is gonna become the new Skyrim for the modding community !

Exactly as you used them before. BG3MM and go.
The mods that I get through BG3 itself seem to work just fine; the mods from Nexus, tho, not so much.

Not sure why.

EDIT: I tell a lie; I just did a quick reinstall and then booted the game from Vortex, and now my camera mod is working!
Oh, thank goodness; I loathe how limited and limiting the camera is in this game. It always kinda feels like I'm trying to crick my neck and I can't look up enough! Egad.
But it's working now, so yay!

A lot of mods are not updating for Patch 8 because they don't need to. Most of the mod.io mods are working in Patch 8 just fine without needing to update.

Ya really shouldn't mistake a lack of updates to Patch 8 for mods for a dead modding scene. In fact, it looks like a lot of modders had stuff they wanted to release but were waiting for Patch 8 to drop first. There literally has been an explosion of new mod releases since Patch 8 dropped.

Hell, as I pointed out, there's already a new mod at mod.io that adds 2 new dungeons to the game. That was a surprise. (I don't know how good it is.)

BTW, I can't compare, but I finally have messed around with the new Photo Mode camera, ... in combat, not for selfies ... and it seems like it got rid of most of the aspects of the game camera that irked me, so it no longer bothers me that I can't use Native Camera tweaks.
