They never said new races were coming. It has always been just new subclasses.
There are mods for this.

In fact, IIRC, one or two new custom race mods have popped up at mod.io since Patch 8's release.
I think we have plenty of races as it is. Perhaps too many...

Na. There is enough already for my enjoyment.
I just wanna play as a robot.

Game is primarily Player Handbook with little deviation from what that allows due to the Player Handbook not having an even amount of Subclasses for the Classes (Ranger only has like... One subclass in the Player Handbook, both Gloomstalker and Hunter come from different books).

im aware, im merely stating my disappointment that neither hasbro nor larian seemed interesting in adding more
I assume adding new races (properly) would be too much work with animations, dialogue reactivity and integrating them into the world with NPCs. But yeah, there are race mods.

Would have been nice if they at least included playable options of existing races in the game. Hob/Goblins, Bugbears, Kobolds etc.

They all have 4 subclasses in the PHB.

Man, I hate they didn't add thermonuclear bombs. They never said they were going to add them. I'm just stating my disappointment that neither hasbro nor Larian seemed interested in adding them.

No, they do not. Ranger only has two subclasses in the Players Handbook. Hunter or Beastmaster. I was incorrect in saying Hunter came from a different book, was thinking of a different Ranger subclass (Monster Slayer, mixed it up with Hunter). Barbarian also, only had two subclasses instead of three. Bards, Druids, Sorcerer all had two subclasses.

Maybe in the 2024 Handbook, but BG3 is based more on the 2014 Handbook.
